Suffield on the Green

Suffield on the Green Bake Sale

Hosted by First Church of Christ, Suffield

Saturday, September 8, 2018

First Church will hold it’s annual bake sale at Suffield on the Green once again this year. This event is a great way to begin the fall season here in Suffield. The theme is “locally grown” - with the hope to sell items made from locally grown products, such as apples, blueberries, zucchini, pumpkins, and more. Money collected from the sale will support Rise Against Hunger, a First Church mission project.

Two ways that church members/friends can help~

1. Bake an item(s). Popular items include pies, breads, cookies, and muffins. The request is to promote locally grown produce, but are not limited to those items exclusively. All baked goods will be accepted! Items should be labeled, including the name of the item, and if a local product was used, where the product came from. (For example, Zucchini Bread- zucchini from Halladay Farm or Blueberry Muffins - blueberries from Kuras Farm.) Please include if the item has nuts, is dairy free, gluten free, etc…

2. Two volunteers are needed for each shift at the booth on Saturday, September 8th. Shift times are: 9:00-11:00, 11:00-1:00, 1:00-3:00, and 3:00-5:00. Volunteer- by yourself, grab a friend, or family member. It’s a great time to meet new people or reconnect with friends.

Where/when items can be dropped off~

Items can be dropped off in the Gay Room kitchen all day on Friday, September 7th, and Saturday morning by 10am. Items arriving after 10am on Saturday should be brought to the booth, located in front of the church.

September and Suffield on the Green are around the corner! Thanks to all who helped with last year’s event, by baking, buying, or working the booth! We hope we can count on you again, as well as those who have never participated before! If you have questions or want to volunteer at  the booth please contact Dianne Remington (860-668-7412 or dianne.remington@ymail.com).
