Senior Pastor

The Reverend Bridget Fidler was called as Senior Pastor in 2009 to serve as the 30th Senior Minister. Bridget is a gifted preacher, creative, resourceful and collaborative in ministry. She has a keen sense of humor and relates well to people of all ages. Pastor Bridget is a caring and compassionate person and considers herself a student continually seeking a better understanding of God as well as her own call. Bridget is able to embrace our current culture and its varied media while connecting them to the ancient scriptures and God’s message. A member of the Suffield Interfaith Council, she values and encourages interfaith dialogue and exchange.

Bridget enjoys hiking and trips to Boston and NYC. A student of culture, Bridget enjoys movies, and visiting art museums. Her favorite television show is Modern Family. An avid reader, Bridget likes non-fiction dealing with culture, history, spiritual journey, and vocation and novels about families. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She studies voice and the ancient Chinese practice of Qi Gong.

Before serving in Suffield, Bridget was Co-Pastor at First Congregational Church in Granby, Conn. Bridget grew up on Long Island and moved to New York City as a teenager. She is the product of a close-knit Irish Catholic /Jewish household. She received her BA in Media Communications at Hunter College, CUNY. She worked for the Museum of Broadcasting in NYC and SPY Magazine. She attended United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in Minneapolis, Minn. and received a Master of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary, in Lancaster, Penn.

Bridget lives in West Hartford with her husband, The Rev. Jonathan Lee
